Question
good afternoon, we plan on moving to cayman island my husband, my son 3yr and I.  we are all british citizen.  what visa would we need to obtain and from where.  reason for this move is my husband dad lives there and have his businesses there

Answer
Nordia
As a Brit, you don't need a visa to visit Cayman, but this would only cover you as a tourist/visitor up to three months.  As a visitor, you are not allowed to work or week work whilst on the island.

It isn't clear from your query - is your father-in-law a Caymanian, or does he have residency rights?  If he wanted to employ your husband, then firstly he would have to prove that there aren't any Caymanians that could fulfill the role (usually be advertising in the local news papers).  He would then have to apply for a work permit for your husband, listing you and your son as dependants.  Note that usually the work permit board would expect the employee to be earning in excess of CI$4,000/month if two dependants were to be included.  Part of the work permit application would require health reports/check, a sworn affidavit attesting to good character, etc.
