Question
Dear Gump,

I am Thai living in Thailand at the moment. I like Cayman islands.
I would like to open up a thai cafe there. I don t know anyone there.I prefer to do it and invest by myself. Could you please give the some advice?

Answer
Hi Jarinee - thanks for your question.  There are numerous laws and regulations about opening a business in Cayman.  The major issue is that it must be 40% owned by a Caymanian so you'll have to have partners.  In addition, there are significant fees associated with opening a business.  I would recommend contacting the Caymanian government to get the latest information and rules and regulations.  I wish you the best!
