i am trying to find my family roots.great grandfather Moet Bodden born around 1872.

I think that you may be out of luck. The Cayman Islands Register of Births, Deaths and Marriages (https://www.vitals.ky/) only goes back to 1885. However, if you contact them (thhough the Cintact us webpage), they office there may be able to give you advice.
