Staying at the London House, what is the best grocery store? Is it advisable to bring food from home or is that more of a problem?

Your nearest big supermarket will be Fosters at the Strand shoping centre. Check out their web site at http://www.fosters-iga.com/
There is also a Kirk's Supermarket just before George Town.

Food can be expensive in Cayman - check out my FAQ at http://www.gotocayman.com for a guide to prices, and the Foster's site also features a page of their weekly special offers that can help give a guide to some prices. Whether you decide to bring your own will rally depend on if you want to cart it all the way with you. Note that generally fruit and vegetables are banned, and any meat must be USDA certified and packed/sealed the way it was pruchased from the store. In theory you are allowed to bring in about CI$35 of meat.

I would suggest that it may be more worthwhile to bring your dute free limit in drink rather than buy your drinks in Cayman - the FAQ has the customs limits.
