Question
Hello! I have checked the FAQ section already.  I am applying for the postion of Pharmacy Technican advertised in the UK and was wondering if you know anyone who does the same job in the Cayman Islands already that I could be put in contact with.  My husband is a Police Officer and would like to contact a PC over there too.  Also, what is it ike adapting to life in the Cayman Islands after living in the UK and what are the rules concerning bringing pets over?

Thankyou for your help!

Best Wishes

No, unfortunately I don't know anybody who works in a pharmacy to put you in contact with. Is the post you are applying for with Government or a business?

On my web site you should find links to the Royal Cayman Island Police Force.  I know that they regularly look for officers for a two/three years contract, so it may be worth contacting them to see what the possibilities are of hime being to get a position out there.

Even though Cayman is a British in many ways, there are also strong influences from the US. Nearly all the cable TV channels come from the States.  Cost of living is very high; we find it is more expensive than living in London.

There tend to be three classes of ex-pats; those that stay amongst themselves; those that go completely 'local' and those that sit somewhere in between.  You will be accepted more quickly if you are seen to be trying to contribute to the community.

The FAQ has info on taking pets to Cayman; I have been warned that the rules are likely to change at some time, so it wouuld be worth contacting the Chief Vetinary Officer directly to check on the current rules/regs.  You will probably find that the air freight is the most expensive part of taking your pet to Cayman.

Hope this helps!
