Question
I couldn't find information regarding property insurance in your FAQ.  With all of the hurricanes and such, is property insurance for a typical home astronomically expensive?  Can you give me an educated guess on the cost?

It may be worth contacting some of the Insurance companies on the island so that they can give you quotes - see my Businesses pages on my web site under "Finance and related".

I've received a reply from by contact on the island.

"House insurance is terrible right now!  We paid CI$3,300 for ours and it was CI$2500 last year.  It depends on the value of the property like 1% of ours which was CI$330,000"
For info, their house is not in the Seven Mile Beach area, and is about 2,5000 sq ft.
