Have you checked out my FAQ at

There are answers to many of the issues there, or you could subscribe to the hot-life guide to give you much of the background information you require (
http://www.hot-life.com/RMindex.html)
1) Cayman is a very safe destination, and a good place to bring up family. The only area to avoid is part of the WEst Bay area that has slightly higher levels of crime than the rest of the island.
2) Generally based around either the financial industries or tourism. however, since 9th September all sectors have taken a knock, so demand is very low at the moment, but check some of the recruitment/employment agencies.
3) See the FAQ on weather info, including hurricanes info.
4) No
5) Good. For non-Caymanians, the private school system tends to be based around a US curriculum.
6) Good, but any serious conditions will be refered to a hospital in Miami. Medical insurance is essential, and now all employers/employees have salary deductions to pay for it.
7) Watersports; sailing, snorkeling, swiming, scuba diving. One two-screen cinema. One bowling alley. Lots of restaurants and bars.
Hope this helps!
Robert
