Cayman Islands/Salary in the diving industry

Question
Dear Robert,
We are currently living in Malta. Recently my partner was offered a position in Grand Cayman as a diving instructor with a daily income of CI$ 5.60, which seems awfully low compare to the cost of living. Further to some research I have conducted I am concerned and worried. Would you know by any chance how does the remuneration system work in the diving industry and if the tips will be ample enough to give us a decent living?
Thanks

Sasha

I really think that he needs to check this out with some of the other dive operators on the island.  I know that dive crews and waiting staff are piad low and can make it up on tips, but I really think that is ridiculously low!  The other thing to be aware of is that peak torusim season in only about 4 months and things really quieten down after that except for the increasing number of cruise passengers who visit Cayman.
Red Sail Cayman (one of the bigest watersports operators) are always looking for staff - check out their website at http://www.redsailcayman.com/

Good luck!
