Question
I am a Jamaican citizen I have lived and work in my country for along time and I would love to get a job in teaching Social Studies/Geography in the Cayman island with my family.  I don't know where to turn to for help so i'm asking you kindly if you can help me.

Thanks in advanced

sincerely yours

Answer
As with any job in the Cayman Islands, you need to do the job search before arriving on the island.  Employers must obtain a work permit on your behalf, something they cannot normally do if you are on-island on a tourist visa.

The Cayman Islands Government regularly lists jobs in the public sector through the jobs link on the www.gov.ky webpage.  Currently I do not see any listings for teaching positions.

There are numerous private schools, and many are religiously affiliated.  An excellent guide, with contact addresses can be found at http://caymannewresident.com/page_id_13.html?PHPSESSID=86007c1f2c44125bce3809f0a...

Many of the teachers on the island are expats.
