Cayman Islands/Spouse

Question
I have an opportunity to work in Cayman. My main concern is my wife being able to work in Cayman.  Her main area of work would be administrative or a secretarial position. How difficult would it be for her to obtain a position there and what kind of salaries could she expect.  She has a position in NYC making $40,000 and I was hoping she could be able to maintain that income there.  Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

Note that you shouldn't rely on your wife getting a job - she should be listed on your work permit as a dependent. If she then manages to get a job in her own right, then you have a bonus! Also, if she is covered by your work permit, she won't have to leave the island whilst her permit is being processed.

Not sure about your salary expectations either. Remember that there is no tax in Cayman, so salaries that appear lower may work out the same, but then you have to offset the higher prices in Cayman.

There was a recent advert for a PA/Secretary that was offering US$35k.
