Cayman Islands/Work Permit on a Cayman Yacht

Question
I realize this might seem like a very strange question, however if I work on a Boat that is registered in George Town, Cayman. Do I have any sort of chance of applying for a work permit as I am ¨working on Cayman soil¨ and some how getting myself into the Cayman ´system´. Or am I way off the mark?

I'm sorry, but this is outside my level of expertise; I have no idea how work permits apply to boat crews.

However, I would guess that if the boat is based and operates from Cayman, then your employer should be applying for a work permit for you to work for him.  If you are trying to get a job as a landlubber, then again it is up to the employer to apply for the work permit (once they have shown that there isn't a Caymanian that can do the job). Most job adverts appear in the Friday editions of Cayman NetCnew and the Caymanian Compass.
