Question
hello,
I am going to Grand Cayman on Nov 20th and I want to cook an American Thanksgiving dinner for 16 guys that are from the US working over there. Do you know if the Cayman grocery stores sell turkies and if not, do you know if I could bring a frozen turkey on the airplane from the US through Cayman immigrations? I know this is a weird question but I appreciate any info
thanks
Robin

Answer
Absolutely!  All of the large supermarkets in Grand Cayman sell frozen turkeys.  Thanksgiving is celebrated by both the American and Canadian expat communities, though it is not a public holiday in Cayman.

Given your time scale, be sure to purchase your turkey right away to have time to safely defrost it in the refrigerator in time for Thanksgiving on the 23rd.

Importation of meats and poultry is not uncommon amongst regular tourists.  Generally, it must be still in the original packaging, and should be USDA certified.  I tend not to recommend doing so on the off chance that the bag is lost or delayed.
