Question
i am engaged to a guy who used to live on the island and wants to go back to live. i have a son from a previous relationship. he has a job there as a bartender and i will have a job in the administrative field. if we are married before we go, will immigration take both of our salaries into consideration, or will one of us need to make enough money to effectively cover living/private education?

I think you may need to check with the Immigration department about your particular circumstances. Are you saying that both of you will have independent work permits? In that case your son should be listed as a dependent on one or other of your permits.
