Here in florida and like most states u have to be atleast 16yrs of age to get your licsense i was wondering how old you have to be to get your licsense in the caymans.. also i use to live on St.John (USVI) carribean... there you would drive on the left side of the road instead of the right.. but where is the steeringwheel located on the passanger side or drivers side? thank you very much
AnswerJohn,
There are many vehicles in the Cayman Islands with left-hand (American style) as well as right-hand (British style) steering wheels. Many of the right-hand drive cars have been imported from Japan.
The Cayman Islands introduced a graduated licensing program which places sharp restrictions on young drivers in an effort to provide a safe period of learing to operate a motor vehicle in a responsible manner. The practical upshot of this is that a young person may not get a full driver's license until some point after their 17th birthday.
