Question
how would one find birth and death records for people who returned to the islands after living in America for awhile?

Answer
You would have to visit the registry office on the island to look up records. However, their records aren't complete as at one stage some of the registers were kept in Kingston, Jamaica, but the building was destroyed by fire.
