Are the drink cards a good deal. Soft drink one seems a great deal, but how about the alcoholic beverage drink cards? Any hidden costs/downside? Thanks!

There are no hidden costs to these alcoholic beverage packages, but the only way to determine if it is worth it for you is to figure out the price you pay pp for the package and how much you actually drink on the duration of the cruise.  Some of the packages offered are as much as $39 - 49 dollars per night.  You should look over the packages offered for you particular cruise (they vary ship to ship) decide how much you would consume and figure out if it is worth it.  I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but it really depends on how much alcohol/beer/wine that you consume.
