Celebrity/Calmest seas in FEB?

Question
I am planning a cruise in Feb. 2007  we have never cruised and are going with friends.Which islands are the best this time of year? Where are the seas the calmest?

Answer
Hi,
My first choice for calm seas would be the Southern Caribbean, I always find smooth sailing on this route.  Feb. is usually a pretty calm time of year so you should not encounter any problem on any of the Caribbean routes.  The downside to the Southern Caribbean is that on a seven day cruise you have to leave from San Juan which is a little further depending on where you are coming from.  If you are looking at Florida for depature, then I do suggest Eastern Caribbean over Western, Western seems to get more choppy seas and at times the weather is not as nice. However, if diving and snorkeling is your thing then I would go with Western. Eastern is nice especially for first time cruisers, I happen to think that this route has nicest islands. Before booking any cruise I would suggest that you visit a local REPUTABLE cruise only travel agent who could suggest the right cruiseline for your travel needs.  Choosing the right ship can really make a big difference in your cruise experience.  I hope this helps.

I have been on NCL, Princess, HAL and Celebrity Cruises, but Celebrity is our favorite line. I have traveled Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean, Alaska, Canada/New England and am familiar with the beaches and places to go at these destinations. We love to cruise and I can tell you the "in`s and out`s of cruising."
