Hi Curtis I am looking to book a cruise online with a cruise discounter. I willbe cruising in mid july or early aug.of 05 for a 7 days round trip from Seattle to Alaska. Experience traveler,but a first time ( honeymoon) cruiser, in need of an outside cabin do to motion sickness. can you suggest some good web sites. Also I was thing of booking my on flight and pre & post cruise arangements. Thank You your experience is needed to help in my decision making.

Hi Richard..... well congrats are in order for your upcoming wedding and honeymoon plans I see !

As for directing you to an online agency, as I am a Travel Agent and own our agency, it is not in my best interest to send you anywhere else !

As for doing your own air... many clients are doing so and suggest using www.travelzoosupersearch.com for assistance.

Oceanview stateroom is the best way to see the sights of Alaska but you may want to look at price differences in that an possibly a balcony stateroom as well. As far as motion distress concerns.... because the ship when doing an Alaska sailing is in very calm waters, motion distress should not really be an issue at all. But if you are concerned, may I suggest a product (Bonine) which is non prescription and does not cause drowsyness as dramamine does and is available at most drug stores or WalMart etc....

Back to booking online.... effective August 16th, you will find that online discounters will no longer have the competitve edge as they will be unable to advertise lower fares than thru the cruiseline. It is going to put us all on a level playing field.
