Question
Recent reviews on the web have shown a lot of discontent with Celebrity...ie...Food quality (especially at Horizons),poor service and rudeness by waiters and room stewards, poor quality of shows, bad experiences if not in a suite, and a general decrease in quality since RCL bought Celebrity. Now...is this true?I have a reservation for Century, and wonder if I should keep it. Can I have a candid review from you on whether or not this is a worthy line to cruise on?

Answer
Hi Susie,
I have never been on the Horizon but can tell you we have had nothing but positive experiences on our Celebrity cruises and have noticed no change since the takeover.  You will hear pros and cons about all of the different lines.  We tried Princess in February due to all the hype about the Grand and were greatly disappointed.
Celebrity offers wonderful food and an upscale atmosphere.  Many people prefer ships will lots of pool games and announcements during the course of the day.  Celebrity offers a low key cruise experience with plenty of activities if you choose to participate.  The Celebrity ships we have been on have been immaculate, the service excellent and the food wonderful.  We have never encountered rude or unsatisfactory service.  I can only tell you that Celebrity is our favorite line and we are in the midst of planning to go on another Celebrity cruise in January or February.  The spa/gym on the Century is beautiful and we were treated wonderfully.
I hope this helps a little, and remember, everyone has their favorite line and likes and dislikes.  I cannot promise that you will love your Celebrity cruise, but you should not have a bad experience with this line.

I have been on NCL, Princess, HAL and Celebrity Cruises, but Celebrity is our favorite line. I have traveled Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean, Alaska, Canada/New England and am familiar with the beaches and places to go at these destinations. We love to cruise and I can tell you the "in`s and out`s of cruising."
