Today I was reading a webpage in which Gandhiji told the importance of fruit diet in observance of brahmacharya...but many others were saying that only fruit diet is harmful so do you think that a person who is observing fruit diet with brahmacharya can live a healthy life while working hard in his daily routine work.
Answer 1. Gandhiji has NOT said anywhere that one should ONLY eat fruits and nothing else. What he advocated was eating fruits in some quantity on a daily basis ALONG with other staple food.
2. Day to day worldly activity requires a balanced diet that contains all the required nutrients. Merely subsisting on fruits is not possible for the common man. A diet as has been explained in past answers should suffice.

Questions concerning the practice of 'Brahmacharya' to know the self, & the means required are dealt with here.
The term 'Yoga' is a derivative of the Samskruth verb 'Yuj' which refers to union. 'Yoga', also called 'Brahma vidy‚' is the eternal dissolution of the individual 'Aham' (Ego) into the Atman (self) for 'Mukti' (liberation).
Mere indulgence in '¬sana' or physical postures is not Yoga. ¬sana is only one limb or 'Anga' of Yoga. The eight limbs viz. Yama, Niyama, ¬sana, Pr‚n‚y‚ma, Praty‚h‚ra, Dh‚rana, Dhy‚na and Sam‚dhi are the means to Yoga. Brahmacharya or spiritually based continence is one of the important components of 'Yama'. 'Brahmacharya':- "Brahmani charyathey ithi" - "To surrender one's Ego and go with the will of the Almighty."
