Question
i was topper in studies from my childhood. i was such a razor sharp that my lecturers used to shock at my intellectual skills. i got state rank in my +2. On entering b.tech, because of a bad company of a friend, i had come to know masturbation. since that time(age17) I've been masturbating. now I'm crossing 25. Even i realised at the age of 20 itself,, i couldn't stop it. clearly i can see the effects of it now. my brain is not as sharp as before. but still enthusiastic in studies .Please Guide me how to stop that habit so that I'll get back my past health. and i was fully disappointed by my past.

Questions concerning the practice of 'Brahmacharya' to know the self, & the means required are dealt with here.

Experience

The term 'Yoga' is a derivative of the Samskruth verb 'Yuj' which refers to union. 'Yoga', also called 'Brahma vidy‚' is the eternal dissolution of the individual 'Aham' (Ego) into the Atman (self) for 'Mukti' (liberation). Mere indulgence in '¬sana' or physical postures is not Yoga. ¬sana is only one limb or 'Anga' of Yoga. The eight limbs viz. Yama, Niyama, ¬sana, Pr‚n‚y‚ma, Praty‚h‚ra, Dh‚rana, Dhy‚na and Sam‚dhi are the means to Yoga. Brahmacharya or spiritually based continence is one of the important components of 'Yama'. 'Brahmacharya':- "Brahmani charyathey ithi" - "To surrender one's Ego and go with the will of the Almighty."
