I recently bought an LG Chocolate KG300 which has just developed a fault. Everytime I try to make a call, I get the message "failure to aurthorize", and I do not get connected. I have put the sim card in another phone and it works fine, so the fault must be with the phone itself ... any ideas ? I would really appreciate any help on this subject.

I believe the LG Chocolate GSM version is model KG800. According to the specs on this phone it is triband phone. One possible cause is that you are not receiving the accurate frequency required for your phone to communicate with the network and make a call. You see your phone is a European Triband phone which use Networks GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900. It so happens that here in the United States we use Networks 850 and 1900. It could be that you are in a area that requires a 850 frequency and you are not able to establish connection with the network because of that. Another suggestion is it could be some setting on the phone. What you can try to do is reset the settings on the phone and restore the phone to manufacturer settings. However any settings you have made on the phone to receive pictures and be able to get online would be reset and you would have to reenter those. Another suggestion is water damage or humidity has damaged the board on the phone remove the back cover to the battery remove the battery and you will see a circular sticker that should be white if it is any color other than white there is some type of water condensation or humidity damage that may be the cause. Last but not least maybe a software glitch that has caused the phone to malfunction but resetting the phones settings if there is no water damage should fix that. Also please make sure that the sim card is inserted properly. If all else is well you may want to contact LG and see if your phone is under warranty and go through there repair center there may be a 2-3 week turn around time if your phone is still under warranty.
