Question
QUESTION: I have telephone service through embarq but do not have the internet on the phone.  Is there any way to get the pictures from my cell phone to my home computer?  I purchased a cable but my computer (HP pavilion laptop) does not recognize the phone/camera.  I have not been able to locate software.

ANSWER: Hello Sandy,

According to the specs of your phone you have bluetooth and the ability to send files from your bluetooth enabled phone to another bluetooth enabled device. Here is a suggestion if your laptop is not bluetooth enabled you can purchase a bluetooth device that looks similiar to a flash drive that will make your laptop bluetooth enabled so you can just send the files to your laptop via bluetooth the bluetooth device looks like this http://www.gearxs.com/gearxs/images/CYBERBLUE-USB-DONGLE.jpg or if you want to purchase the data cable and the correct pc studio software you can purchase it from amazon here is a link http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Blast-BlackJack-FlipShot-Cable/dp/B00121A6H8 These are both some suggestions other wise you can use univeral pilot software like this http://www.datapilot.com/phonesupport/en_US/Sprint/Samsung/1658/SPH-M300/ either way I hope these options will come in handy for you. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.

QUESTION: I purchased the software and cable.  The software did not run through the entire process but my computer acknowledged the new program and said it was installed and ready to use.
When I tried to use it, it said, "Com port being used by another progam or is not configured.  Please select another Com Port. (I don't know what this means nor do I know how to select another Com port.)
I keep going and click on Phone to PC button.  It says: "Downloading images feature from camera is not supported with this model".
I switch to images stored in phone and click on Phone to PC again and it says: "MY PHOTO has upload camera image for managing your camera image function available in A601 model".
Am I doing something wrong or does this stuff not really work with an M300?  As you can see I am not very computer literate and need help.  All I want to do is get a couple of pictures from this camera phone.
Thanks/Sandy

ANSWER: Hello Sandy,

The first thing I would suggest is for you to remove the software completely and install it entirely the second time. If the program says Com port being used by another program you need to change the Com port. The CD should give you the directions on which appropriate port to change it to. What is the name of the software I will give you directions.

QUESTION: There are no instructions about a com port or how to change it.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.  The disk says "USB Data Cable Driver model:CDD01D216"

Answer
Hello Sandy,

I believe the software you have is the Samsung PC Studio 3.0 in case you did not receive a manual here is a copy of it www.samsung.com/se/products/mobilephone/gsm/files/z150/samsungpcstudio_guide_eng.pdf

1. Install Samsung USB Driver
2. Plug in USB Computer should recognize phone and prompt for driver install use the disk that came with the cable
3. Install pimms
4. Go into pimms setup and set com port to number 4

This should help for your computer to detect the phone, if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
