Cellular Phones/W315 Phone Number

Question
I have two W315 phones. I dropped Alltel and got new phones and had the numbers ported to the new phones. I cleared the W315's using Master Reset and Clear but noticed if I punch down to Phone Info and look at the NAM setting my cell number is there. I changed to the default number there (0000006616), but still would like to get my number out of there. If after doing that and doing a reset, it puts my number back as the NAM and it is listed under the Voice Mail number. Any ideas?

Answer
Hello Fred,

I do apologize but the type of technlology that Alltel uses is called CDMA meaning it digitally stores the number into the phone until that particular phone is flashed or a new number is associated with the device. If you perform a master reset it will just reset all the settings on your phone to the original settings your phone had when you received the phone from Alltel but it will not delete your text messages contacts pictures or videos. If you perform a master clear this will reset your phone to original settings plus delete any information such as videos pictures ringtones you might have on the phone. The one thing it will not do to your phone since your phone is digitally inscribed with your cell phone number is remove your number from its memory until it is flashed or a new number is put onto your device. I hope that I have been of help to you if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.
