Cellular Phones/address book and sim card

Question
I copied my contacts from my sim card to my address book in my Blackberry pearl, but they aren't synchronized, are they? (meaning if I edit a contact in the address book, the change will also be applied to the contact on the sim card). I prefer to get to my contacts in my address book instead of having to open up the sim phone book each time I open my address book, but I like the idea of having all my contacts secured (and updated) on my sim card so as to be able to transfer to other devices if need be. Any advice you could provide on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Answer
Hello Ali,

The contacts on your sim card and the contacts on your Blackberry Pearl are not synchorized if you made a change to the contacts on your device it will not affect the contacts on your sim card. If you would like to backup your contacts including your media calendar and appointments you can use the blackberry software and synchronize your device to the software via usb cable and you will be able to synchorize your information and restore it at any time. In case you do not have the software here is a link http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/ I hope that I have been of help to you and please do not hesitate to ask any questions if you have any in the future. Thank you for yoru question Ali.
