Cellular Phones/Cellphone ID3 Music tags
Expert: Roberto Serrano - 4/6/2008
QuestionQUESTION: Hi,
I have a Motorola V3m with sprint, and the music application does not load the music sometimes due to the ID3 tags. I have realized that it has to do something with the puntuation marks or too much info in the ID3 tags, I was wondering what kind of punctuation marks, or which part of the song info the phone does not accept.
ANSWER: Hello Michael,
The way to transfer music to the transflash card is
1. format transflash card in phone
2. hook up the transflash card to your PC and xfer Mp3 files to it under the my_music folder
3. put transflash card back in phone
I believe that the reason that your mp3 music is not working is probably because it is Drm music (Music that has Digital Rights Management). You need to copy music to the phone that does not have Digital Rights Management. I hope that I have been of help to you if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.

QUESTION: Thank you,
However, I have already formatted the memory card a number of times, and I do not possess any DRM protected music since I either own the cds in the first place or rip cds from the library.
ANSWER: Hello Michael,
Please visit the Sprint Music Store's Player and check to see if you have the latest .43 software release. You may check to see if your Sprint Music Store player is updated to 1.63. This is done through the the HELP menu of the player. When you launch HELP, it will tell you that a new version of the Store/Player is available. Also please do not rule out the possibility of having a defective micro sd card. I hope that I have been of help to you if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately I am unable to update my phone, due to connection problems with the Sprint Vision (due to error 1012), and I do know that the Micros SD card works as I am able to transfer and read pictures from the same card. I'm at a lost
AnswerHello Michael,
I have been researching your problem and I can not come up with a conclusion have you thought of the fact that your phone may be defective or you might have defective firmware on your phone. Have you attempted to go to a Sprint store and see if your memory card works on another phone or maybe one of your friends phones perhaps. I hope that is the resolution to your problem if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.
