Cellular Phones/Need pics off 64K Smartchip in my Razr!
Expert: Roberto Serrano - 4/1/2008
QuestionI'd like to send my old Razr to the Cell Phones For Soldiers program but first I have some pics I'd like to retrieve from the SIM card within (this phone works fine, but no longer has service; I have a new phone now). I've tried those Kodak kiosks using the Bluetooth, but no dice. It recognizes there's a device, but then doesn't absorb the pics. What can I do?!
Also, is there a way to erase my address/phone book stored on it? Thank you!
AnswerHello Chris,
There is a misconseption about the sim card that some people have. Sim cards do not hold pictures videos ringtones or games they can only hold about 64kbs of actual memory they only have enough memory to hold about 250 contacts and there information. Your actual phone holds Mega Bytes of information so any pictures videos ringtones and games that you downloaded and have on your phone are on the memory of your phone. If you want to send the pictures to your new phone you can do it one of a few ways the first way is through bluetooth you can simply send the pictures from your old phone to your new device via bluetooth. You can also send the pictures to your computer via a usb data cable and software called Motorola Phone tools. The last way to send pictures to your computer would be through e-mail simply remove your new sim card from your new phone and place the new sim card into your old phone this will make your old phone temporarily active until you remove the sim card and put it back into your new device. Now while your new sim card is in your old device you can send pictures to your computer via e-mail by sending them as multi media messages simply send via e-mail to your email and within minutes you will have them there. If after you have backed up all the information on your old phone onto your either new phone or your computer you want to erase all the data on your old device you can perform a master clear. Here are the directions on how to perform a master reset. I hope that I have answered all of your questions if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.
Here is how you perform a Master Reset on the Motorola RAZR V3:
1. Open your phone up and go to “Settings”
2. Next go to the selection for “Initial Setup”
3. Next go to the selection for “Master Clear”
4. Then select to confirm the option.
5. Now enter the security code which should be “000000”
6. Finally press select or ok and the phone will reset itself to the factory condition
