Cellular Phones/missing person pleeease help!
Expert: Roberto Serrano - 4/18/2008
Questionhello, my sister's husband who is also the father of three younger children went out to california to try to find work (we,"she" is in mi and the economy is horrible) his name is Daniel Scott and he goes through T mobile. his wife and children are his life and he never let a day or even a few hours go by without checking in. he did call my sister about four days ago (last time we heard from him) to let her know that desert hot springs or hot springs was no place to raise their kids. the conclusion they came up with at that point was that he would raise enough money at his new job to come back home and give it another try here in michigan. (don't worry, i'm getting to my cell phone q.) so now, it's been about four days. she will be filing a missing person here in Mi tommorrow. with nothing to go on you see, her husband had no credit cards, no permanent address he was living at. he did go with our brother (his brother in law) who had no phone himself. so then we were left with only being able to call his cell phone oevrand over again but Dan never answered. his ring tone that comes on before one can leave a message just always comes on emediately..were not sure what that means. is it shut off maybe? also, just tonight after my sister tried calling him again for the tenth time, all she got this time was a busy tone. even i tried his number and i get the same. it's not a slow busy signal like his phone is in use rather a rapid beep. could this be a sign his phone is turned off or for some reason out of service now? we are all very worried. this is not like my brother in law and no one seems to be able to offer us any help or advise because were going on nothing with very little money. (cannot afford a P.I.) so tonight, in utter desperation it may seem odd but i am asking you if you might know how we could even go about finding out what the deal is with his cell phone as it may lead us down the main path we should take over others, to start. please, if you need any further info we are willing to give his number to anyone who might be able to help us locate dan. Please. you have my email address. you can contact me there to start when and if you have any answers or help you may be able to offer us. thank you, God bless. Sencerily, Laurie Jean, Michigan.
AnswerHello Laurie,
I do apologize for my late response I do hope that He is fine. One thing that you can do is this after you file the missing persons report you or your police department can contact your phone provider and they can research where his last call was made from. What they can do is this they can use a triangle service to pinpoint where his last call was made from it will not pinpoint an exact location it will pretty much give you a roundabout blocks near by. Another thing is this if you or somebody else know all the information on the account call and or get online onto the online account where you can actually view the last call made or received and to who it was from or who it was to. Usually with some phones depending on carriers when you are traveling some phones do not get reception in some parts and the phone goes directly into voicemail. If when you contact him the phone call goes directly into voicemail it could ean the phone is either off ran out of battery or turned off. If you contact the phone and you get a busy tone it could be the phone has been temporarily disconnected what can be done to restore services is pay the bill and immediately the phone will be turned on again as long as he has the phone powered on. Your best choice would be to contact the provider immediately and get information from them including last call information. I do apologize for what you are going through and I do hope that he shows up soon and hopefully it is just something minor keeping him from communication with you. I do hope that I have been some sort of help to you if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question. God Bless.
