I'd like to further question your answer on 2/21/2008 concerning the data cable for motorola w490.

I installed the Motorola Phone Tools v5.05, ran the live update, and it still promts my phone as unsupported.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is another alternative to using the software Motorola phone tools. With your phone you have the capability of expanding its memory with the optional micro memory card. Now this memory card you can insert it into your phone and simply find the music and open it with your music player and listen to music that way. Your computer should have a memory card slot iit does not have a slot you can purchase a memory card reader in form of a usb adapter that looks like this http://shop.amstore.co.uk/images/Integral-Mobile-Card-Reader-3D.jpg its available at radio shack best buy circuit city and other computer affiliated stores. Now you can simply insert the micro card into the side and place the usb into your pc usb port that will open up and display it as a mass storage device. Now what you can do is simply copy and paste music into that folder and when you are done remove the memory card insert it into your phone and open your music player.
