I can answer questions on cellular phones, the physical device, the network, what to look for when purchasing cell phones. I am located in the United States. I am an expert on BlackBerrys, Treos, HTC devices and iPhones as well as cellphones and aircards. I have over 15 years of experience in both the wireless and wireline world with the carriers. I have a lot of knowledge regarding the wireless providers - their services, prices and policies, both GSM (AT&T (formerly Cingular) and T-Mobile) and CDMA (Verizon, Sprint/Nextel (iDEN)). I am very familiar with the individual devices and their specifications. I can also answer questions regarding BlackBerrys, iPhones and other PDAs, both Palm-based and Windows-based. I can troubleshoot most any problem someone is having with their cellular device or with the provider.

Question
I am an AT&T customer looking for a new phone but I don't like any of their phones except maybe the tilt.  I really like the sprint LG qwertys (enV, voyager, rumor) and the eten/glofiish-can I get one of these and use on AT&T?  And, would you recommend the eten/glofiish; if not-what do you recommend that is comparable?

Answer
Hi Colette -

I'm not personally familiar with the eten glofish, but it will work on the AT&T network. It's not a 3G (broadband) device like the Tilt, but if you really like the device, it will work with AT&T. You won't be able to use any Sprint or Verizon device on the AT&T network. These companies work on a CDMA network and AT&T is GSM. They are completely different standards and the chipset inside of the device prevents you from being able to use it on the other's network.

There's a new LG phone that AT&T sells that you may not yet be familiar with. It's called the Vu and I think you will find that it is the cousin of the devices you mentioned sold by Sprint and Verizon. It's actually brand new. If you go to www.wireless.att.com, you can see this device. It's a 3G device also. Here is some info on it:

LG VU(TM)
The LG VU(TM) is one of the first AT&T Mobile TV capable phones. With a 2 MP camera, streaming audio and video it steps out from the competition. Enjoy Video Share, AT&T Mobile TV, AT&T Music, Cellular Video capabilities and more!

There's also the iPhone, of course. Have you ever considered this device?

I really like the Tilt and it is a 3G device (simultaneous voice and data and high speed data) and is a full Windows Mobile 6 device (which the other devices you mentioned are not). You could use this device for everything.

I hope this helps and I really think you will like the Vu. Let me know. Thanks. DebiN
