Cellular Phones/Motorola V365 2G memory card format failure
Expert: Roberto Serrano - 6/17/2008
QuestionQUESTION: Hello Roberto,
I read your post on 4-1-2008 concerning a problem with a 2G memory card. I followed your suggestion and got the phone to recognize the card, but it will not format. It continues to say "format failed". Any suggestions? Thank you!
ANSWER: Hello Carolyn,
According to our spec sheets the phone is capable of using the memory card you have purchased. However, when I contacted Motorola they stated that the highest memory card you can use is 512mb. I do apologize about my error it was an error in the spec sheet that I was given by the company and have reported this error. I do apologize for any inconvenience. I hope that I have been of help to you if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.

QUESTION: Hello Roberto, and thank you. Motorola is the one who needs to apologize, not you. I personally asked them the maximum memory allowed before I bought my cards, and they replied 2G. I called them just now and found the real scope. The V365 will take a 1G or 2G card, but there are formatting problems. If you are lucky enough to get it formatted, your phone will probably freeze up at some point. The very nice lady from Customer Service said that 512MB works smoothly. Unfortunately, I now have two 2G cards that don't work and two more 1G cards ordered. Had the info on several websites as well as Motorola itself been accurate, I would have ordered 512MB, which is plenty. I did my homework, but still failed! Live and learn. Thanks for your help.
AnswerHello Carolyn,
After I spoke to them and got there information that is why I stated the 512mb max would be the best solution because if you are going to be have formatting problems then it will not be recommended you might loose valuable information on there such as pictures that cannot be replaced or videos as well. Once again I do apologize thank you for your question once again. Also in the future if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me I will do my best to resolve your issues. Thank you once again for your question.
