Cellular Phones/Prepaid SIM card

Question
Hi,
We have the family plan with t-mobile, however we lost one of our phones. Rather than replacing it with an expensive phone, I opted to purchase a t-mobile prepaid phone. Can I use the prepaid sim card to activate my phone; since I already have service? Or do I need to purchase a regular SIM card? Thanks

Answer
Hello Michelle,

Since you purchased a phone you will not be able to have service until you have a replacement sim card so either you can go to your local T-Mobile store and purchase a sim card for anywhere between 15-25 dollars or you can purchase one online from ebay for about $5. However if you contact T-mobile and have them notate the account stating that you will go to the store for a free sim card you will get it for free. I hope that I have been of help to you if for any reason I was unclear please do not hesitate to contact me, Thank you.
