I have 3 quick questions. I purchases an unlocked SoftBank X01HT Japanese version with an English mobile 5 Os. What would be the best carrier to use this SIM based phone as a modem/phone? How would I upgrade it to mobile 6? Should I just get another Sprint phone or other carrier since my Sprint contract ends in 7 days. Thanks in advance.

Your phone is actually a GSM Wolrldphone so if you wanted to use your phone on At&t that is the network that would give you the best and fastest speeds if you want to use your phone as a modem. If you want to upgrade to windows 6 you would have to check with SoftBank they will eventually place a free upgrade online where you can download it directly to your desktop and update your phone via usb data cable. Actually as of now your best bet for cheapest phone service that will include unlimited internet data text messaging and talk time would be Sprint that plan is actually 99.99. I would suggest for you to explore your options and the several HTC phones that Sprint offers I can guarantee you they will catch your eye however pricey but very good phones.
