QUESTION: Hi Roberto !

I need help, I was playing in the egineering mode of my CECT p168c and I pressed on High speed sim ON by mistake...... And it said phone will shut down in 3 sec... And it was never possible to reboot the phone after.. I tried to find info on the net and nothing much than the phone is finished !! I don't know what to do... I found out that if you put high speed sim on and you have a low speed it will not recognize the sim after... Is there a high speed sim card that exist i could put in the phone so i can go and change       that setting back ??? I know nothing about all this..

ANSWER: Hello Karine,

Everybody that has pressed the High Speed Sim on has had there phone shut off and could not restore the phone. There is no such thing as a high speed sim all of our sim cards are either 32kb or 64kb. My suggestion to you would be to contact cect to verify that your phone is still under warranty you will have to send them the phone for repair they might forward you to a repair center locally or you might have to ship the phone for repair. If you continue to try to turn your phone on there is a possibility it will only turn on for about 1-2 minutes and shut off. And its not possible if it comes on for 1-2 min that i can go change the setting ??
I have one last thing to ask you, you know where to contact cect ??? I got my phone from ebay.. Trying to communicate with the seller is so hard.. And info is so hard to find on the net for that phone...

Hello Karine,

It might be possible to change it once you are in that setting. I found the following that might be of help to you.

if you buy this phone and stick in a sim chip on the WRONG frequency your phone will only show EMERGENCY and YOU CANNOT DIAL OUT. Don’t waste money or time trying to find the answer…here it is:
You need to go into engineering mode (hit the little phone and you will get a dialing keypad), type in *#3646633# and then select Network Setting (item 1) then Band Sel. (item 2) and select the RIGHT frequency for your local phone service provider. Turn off the phone, make sure your sim chip is in (some sim chips do not fit very tight against the pins - use some tape) and then turn on the phone…you should connnect.
