Cellular Phones/Chocolate phone Mg280 - Connect to PC

Question
I've recently bought this phone over ebay, and the description said it was the exact same thing as a normal LG KG800.  My LG KG800 broke, so I ordered a new phone but found out I got a MG280 model.  It didn't come with a USB wire to connect it to my PC.  So, is there a way to get the MG280 to connect to a PC?  I tried using the one that came with the LG KG800, but it failed.  I would really like to put in my own ringtones and use my own wallpaper.

Answer
Hello Fuyu,

This is a phone originally for the Telcel network in order for the phone to work with your computer you will need to find the usb driver for this phone. I have attempted to find the driver on the LG website and on the Telcel website and it was unsuccessful. I later found that the reason why I was unable to find the driver is because this phone has been discontinued. If you want to put music on your phone you will need to do it the old way. You can transfer music to your phone via micro card. Your micro memory card should of come with a sleeve please insert the micro card into your sleeve. Many computers come with memory card reader slots what you need to do now is insert your memory card into the memory card reader slot. Now your computer will read the memory card and open up another drive on your computer. When you do this open up the drive and transfer music to your memory card drive. Please make sure that all the music is decoded at 128kb or lower as if you have your music decoded at anything higher than 128kb it could cause your music not to play on your phones music player. Also please make sure that your music does not have DRM management it will not play on your phone. Many digital music services employ digital rights management (DRM) — also known as "copy protection" — that prevents you from doing things like using the portable player. After you are done transfering over music to your memory card remove the memory card and place it in your phone, open up the music player and your music should play. If your computer does not have a music memory card reader you can purchase one at your local computer store such as radio shack, best buy, circuit city, etc. It will be a USB memory card reader such as this http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2870461&cp=&sr=1&origkw=sa... If your music is set at a bit rate of anything higher than 128kbs please make smaller here is a free music converter www.dbpoweramp.net I hope that I have been of help to you if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.
