Question
I have a 64K (cingular) at&t SmartChip SIM card that is now BLOCKED because
I forgot my PIN code and couldn't remember it in 3 tries. The code has a
maximum of 8 digits and I'm sure I remember the gist of my Password BUT
HOW do I get it unlocked in case I can't figure it out??? Can AT&T reset or
unlock the card?? Is there any down side if I keep attempting to enter the
code to unlock it? Thank you for your Immediate and Helpful reply!

Answer
Hello Mic,

If you saw an error that said sim disabled you will not be able to unlock the sim card the sim card is pretty much not useable again. If you saw an error that said PUK Code you can get that code from at&t to unlock the phones code you can also log into your at&t account online and they should have it posted there. If you set a code to your sim card please store the code in a safe place I would suggest for you to back up any information you have on the sim card this way if your sim card gets damaged you wont have to worry about any information you have stored on the sim card you can just get a replacement sim card. If you set a passcode to your phone and you forget the code at&t will not have this code as this is a personal code that you set and only you know the code. The only downside if you see enter PUK code and you do not get the correct code is that your sim card will exceed the maximum amount of times you can enter and this will burn out your sim card and you will not be able to use it again. I hope that I have been of help to you if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your question.
