Cellular Phones/LG-VX8350 shutting off/turning on by self
Expert: Roberto Serrano - 7/1/2008
QuestionMy daughter has a LG-VX8350, one year old, and this morn it started turning on and off by itself. We have removed the battery and replaced it, it is fully charged. The Verizon store is telling us we must purchase a new phone. Any other options for us?
AnswerHello Wendy,
Please perform the following steps please remove the battery on the base of the phone when you have the battery removed there is a circular or square sticker it should be white if it is any color other than white meaning any red or pink on it the phone has water damage, humidity damage or other possible liquid damage. When your phone has water damage the phone needs to be replaced because the main board on the phone has been damaged. Another suggestion is please check your purchase receipt and if your item was purchased before one year and has no physical or water damage and is just turning on and off by itself with no other known issues you still fall under the one year warranty and Verizon Wireless should replace the phone for you for free. Another suggestion I can recommend is to perform a master clear this will reboot the phones software and clear any problems that are not affiliated with any physical damage done to the phone such as water damage. Please be advised that performing a master clear on your phone will erase any data on the phone such as pictures, text, ringtones, videos and any other valuable data on your phone.
