Cellular Phones/SIM Card numbers to Address Book
Expert: Roberto Serrano - 7/30/2008
QuestionI have the red Blackberry Pearl 8120. I saw your answer re transferring numbers from the SIM card to Address book but when I do as instructed click on address book and then menu, all I get is the contacts that are already in the address book-- No Sim Card -no menu and no copy all to address book.
The folks at the store downloaded the old phone numbers to this phone. I know that there in my phone somewhere b/c the numbers and names come up from my old address book when that person calls and I know I didn't enter them in manually. Is it possible that the wireless from my computer is messing with the phone? Every since I started the phone there has been a message stating "data connection refused" Also I can't see all the icons that should be on the phone -- bluetooth, ATT mall, ATT music, internet etc.
AnswerHello Trina,
The reason you receive the error about data connection refused is because you do not have an internet package on you plan. If you do have an internet package on your phone you have the incorrect package you need to have the correct Blackberry plan. As far as your contacts go they probably copied all the contacts that are on the phne to the phone and did not copy contacts that are on the sim card over. When you go into your address book press the left key on the side of the center ball with the 6 black circles on it and you will see a menu, now click on sim card address book it will show you all the contacts on your sim card. Press the 6 black circle button again and press copy all to address book or copy all to phone this will copy all your contacts onto your phones memory. This should clear up your missing contacts. In order to view your main menu please make sure you have the correct theme on your account, please be advised that this is a blackberry smart phone and not an ordinary phone you will not be able to download ringtones on this phone as far as bluetooth goes you connect to another phone via your folders and menus. I would suggest for you to take time out to read the manual and not rush into this phone as it is more complicated than a regular phone you can get support and manuals at the following website.
