QUESTION: Hi there. I have a confusing question about the new 3g iphone, the one released in july 11th. Hope you can help me. I need to know if it comes unlocked, i mean, i intend to buy it in UK but i live in other country. Will i be able to use it anyway or at least unlock it? I heard that you can't use iphone outside the area you bought it because it's linked to the local cellphone agency, something like that. Is that true?

ANSWER: Hello Allan,

I do apolgize but any iphone sold in the united states is locked to At&t as of now since the phone has not been released there is no hack for it perhaps in 2-3 months after release date. If you purchase the phone and get it unlocked in the future you will be able to use it in the U.K. I hope that I have been of help to you if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. QUESTION: Ohh i see...but the iphone sold in US is the same as the one sold in UK? I mean, the only possible diference between them is the operator they are locked to right?

The thing is i live in BRAZIL, and iphone 3G doesnt even have a release date here...But then i hope when it finally gets here, i could unlock the one bought in UK. Do you think thats possible?

I really do not know much about the iphone version that was released in Europe however the version to be released in the United States will be a 3g version. If you plan to unlock the phone I would urge you to wait for people to give you there feedback and read about the feedback I would also suggest that you wait this way you can have your opinion if you do get the phone unlocked you will be able to use it in Brazil. It will be possible to use the phone in Brazil with hackers and programmers out there it is possible.
