QUESTION: Dear Mr. Serrano, i recently bought a a88 msmart mobile phone. Yet, as much as I try touse teh internet on my phone it is not possible. The manual does not explain how to activate a new network and apparently there is no option to do it. I thank you very much in advancement.

ANSWER: Hello Marco,

You do not have any internet on your phone or multi media messaging because your phone is unlocked. When you purchase a phone that is not issued by your service provider the phone is unlocked and you need to set the phones settings to your provider manually. You are not guaranteed to be able to access these settings as this phone is unlocked. I can attempt to give you the settings you need to input them in manually yourself. I do need more information as to who your provider is as in all cell phone providers have different settings. Who is your service provider.

QUESTION: Well, you see, the only way to access internet service through this phone is through the connection at my house as it apparently does not have wifi. The telephone service is provided by a mexican company called telcel and the internet service at my house is provided by another company here at mexico called megacable. Therefore I don't know if you will have knowgledge on any of the two. If anyway you could help me with my problem I would be immensely grateful.

Here are the settings for Telcel Mexico if they do not happen to work I would suggest for you to go to your local Telcel shop so they can set the phone up for you as the usually do. ***First Step***
1.Main menu --> Select Services
3.Select Data Account --> Select GPRS
5.Select the first entry
6.Edit the account name to whatever you would like
7.Edit APN to wap.itelcel.com (lowercase)
8.Edit Username to: iesgprs
9.Edit Password to: iesgprs2002
10.Edit Auth Type. to Secure
11. Save

Select Back --> Select Back

***Second Step***

Select WAP
1.Select Settings --> Edit Profile
3.Select the first entry --> Edit Profile
5.edit the name to whatever you would like
6.Edit Homepage to http://upaapps.telcel.com:8582/telcelwap.wml
7.Edit Data Account to the Name you established in the First Step
8.Edit Connection type to HTTP
9.The IP address is 148.233.151.240 and the port number is 8080
10.Edit Username to: iesgprs
11.Edit Password to: iesgprs2002
Select back or done
Select Activate Account


You should now see a Black [G] in the upper left of your screen.

MMS

Select Messages --> MMS --> Message Settings
Select Server Profile
Select the first entry
Select Edit Profile
Edit Rename Profile to whatever name you would like
Edit Home Page to http://mms.itelcel.com/servlets/mms
Edit Data Account to the same data account you created for WAP
Edit Connection Type to HTTP the IP address is 148.233.151.240 and the port is 8080
Edit the Username to: mmsgprs
Edit the Password to: mmsgprs2003

Select Done or Save
Make sure to activate the profile and you are good.
