Question
I have a Blackberry pearl 8110 . It is a hand me down from a friend.  It has an IT policy on it so i have to keep putting in the password which is really annoying.  i searched online and since my
OS is 4.2 my only option is to download something called an policy.bin and do a series of steps. but when i click on download it asks how i want o open the .bin. what do i do? is this my only option? Asking him to take it back to work and them unlocking this thing is not an option.

Answer
It's not about unlocking the device and if he takes it back to work, there's nothing that they can do to change this. Once a BlackBerry has to been set to have a password, it states that way, annoying as it is. You can try opening the .bin and see if that makes sense. I believe this to be your only potential option because wiping the device won't change this, so that would be the only potential way to change things, I'm afraid. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
