Cellular Phones/Blackberry immediately loses all power when not plugged in

Question
Hello, DebiN,
I have a BB Curve, and for the past few months, if I try to use the camera or talk on the phone, it will immediately lose all power and have to be reset if it is not plugged in.  I can use the media function to listen to mp3's and stuff, so I'm not sure how it could just be a weak battery... Also, the battery meter doesn't show a rapid drain, it just immediately shuts down after 5-30 seconds of talking (unless of course its plugged in at the time).

What could this possibly be?  (Maybe it IS just the battery, but I don't know how I could listen to mp3's for an hour if that was the case)

I've had the phone for maybe 2 years.

Thank you very much in advance if you're able to get to my question!

Answer
I would suggest resetting the device, start by pulling out the battery and then putting it back in. If that doesn't solve the problem, you may want to try to reset the device and wipe everything off of it (make sure you have a backup on your computer). It is possible that your problem could be solved with a firmware upgrade and if not, then take it to your carrier to have it looked at. After 2 years, it should still be okay. The battery doesn't typically die that quickly and it doesn't sound like the battery is the issue, although as an FYI, listening to music uses the least amount of battery on the device. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
