Cellular Phones/SIM Card

Question
My husband has a contract with Verizon, he recently acquired a new phone and gave me his old one. The phone is a Blackberry 8330. I have my contract with Nextel, the SIM card slot doesn´t fit is too big. Is there any way to change that part so that the card fits in there?

Answer
There is only one size of SIM card. You are actually trying to put your Nextel SIM into the SD memory card slot on the 8330. The 8330 does not have a slot for a SIM card because it is not an international device and unfortunately, it only works on the CDMA network in the US. You will unfortunately not be able to use this device Nextel service. If you want to use the 8330, you will have to switch to Verizon or you will have to switch to the Sprint side of Sprint/Nextel and then have the BlackBerry flashed to Sprint. If I were you, I think that I might just either sell the 8330 or wait until you decide if you are going to change carriers to Verizon. If you do that, you can have them activate the 8330 for you. Please keep in mind that you will have to pay for not only a voice plan, but a minimum of a $30.00 BlackBerry data plan also. And that does not include a text messaging plan. I hope this helps.
