GDAY DEBIN, MY BLACKBERRY WHICH I RELIGIOUSLY CHARGE EVERY NIGHT THIS MORNING PRODUCED A WHITE SCREEN WITH THE HOUR CLOCK CONTINUOUSLY REVOLVING. AFTER 20 MINUTES I REMOVED THE BATTERY AND REPLACED IT AGAIN, BUT MORE OF THE SAME. I HAVE PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY AND REPLACED IT BUT STILL THE SAME. THE NEW BATTERY LOOKS IDENTICAL AND FITS OK AND SUITS BLACKBERRY 7100g-8707 INCLUDING 8300 BUT NOT 8320.IS IT TIME TO THROW IT AWAY. REGARDS AH

Answer
Hi Alan -

Personally, I don't believe the problem you are having relates to the battery at all and you didn't need to purchase a new battery. I would put your original battery back in. What I would suggest is for you to plug your USB cable in and see if there is any way that you can sync the device in order to re-download the firmware. If you still see the same screen, you will need to get the phone repaired or replaced. If it is less than 12 months old, it's under warranty and your carrier will replace it. If it's over 24 months old and you are eligible for an upgrade, I would suggest it. It's almost never the battery that is an issue when you have problems with a phone, it's almost always the device itself. Batteries last a lot longer than people realize, I'm afraid. And for a BlackBerry, you have to use only the battery that is for your phone. It sounds like the battery you bought is not a BlackBerry battery because when they made the 7100, the 8300 didn't exist, so I would not use a battery that wasn't the exact one for my BlackBerry. Just an FYI on the battery issue, but still, the problem is not with the battery. if the battery doesn't work, the phone doesn't come on. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
