Question
I have an ATT Blackberry 8110 Sim Card and need a phone to go with it (phone got washed in pants pocket but Sim card still works!)... saw a Sony Ericsson Z300A ATT on sale and wondered if it would work with the Blackberry SIM card?  Location - TX

Answer
The good news is that SIM cards don't go with phones, they go with the carrier. All SIM cards from your carrier are the same. It doesn't matter what phone you had it in. Your SIM card is your identity and what is on it is your phone number, rate plan, features, and whatever was manually stored onto it. You can put your AT&T SIM card into any AT&T phone and it will work right away. The phone does not have to be unlocked, it just has to be branded by AT&T. What you do need to do is to cancel your BlackBerry data plan with AT&T if you are not going to be using the phone with another BlackBerry. If you try to access the internet or anything else related to data on another phone without changing the BlackBerry data plan with AT&T, you will be charged for every kilobyte you use. The BlackBerry data plan is not a generic plan, it only works for BlackBerry data. If you are going to get a non-BlackBerry device, contact AT&T and tell them to remove your BlackBerry data plan and swap it out for a DataConnect Unlimited plan so that you can still use data. If you still need to use the email and other features of the BlackBerry, I would strongly recommend just getting a new BlackBerry from AT&T. Also, even if the SIM card didn't work, you can still get a new one for no charge from AT&T - all they would do is move your number and information to another SIM and activate it in their system. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
