Cellular Phones - Blackberry Text Content Retrieval

Expert: DebiN - 11/1/2009

Question
I need to retreive the content of text messages back to January 2009 on a Blackberry 8320 using T-Mobile.  Can I do that?  If so, please tell me how.  I already have the numbers that were texted (got this from T-Mobile) but they say they can't get me the content.  Can you help?  Thank you.

Answer
What T-Mobile told you was completely correct. You can only get the numbers that you texted (which you have). Content is not retrievable. Not even with a court subpoena could you retrieve this because it was purged a long time ago. If you are trying to use this for a court case, I can assure you that most courts of law wouldn't even find this admissible, even if you had it. The device and carrier don't matter, the information was purged a long time ago. Many people don't realize that once you delete a text message, it is gone for good and this is the case. Content is not available, only the record of the text. Thanks. DebiN
