Question
hi, i am trying really hard to resolve the issue but no luck (live in the u.k). i have turned on my wifi on the phone, set up the network which it detects. however even though it is connected i see a white dash next to the wifi network name where a green tick must be. also the wifi symbol is grey. i dont have a bb data plan i was told i do not need it for wifi from the network provider (vodafone). i have found this website http://www.ehow.com/how_4537240_using-wifi-data-plan-t.html to explain how to activate wifi without the bb data plan.

however the bit that says Select Options >> Browser Configuration.
Here select the browser as "Wi-Fi Browser". the wifi browser option is not there only web and hotspot browser.

in addtion i know it is not my internet service because there are another 2 blackberrys in the house but on the orange network.

i am really stuck on  how to resolve this. i would be very appreciative if you could help me. thanks

Answer
Can you tell me who your carrier is and who is the carrier for the Storm2 that you have? If the Storm2 is from Verizon, for example, and you have Orange service, you will not be able to make the WiFi work. Can you tell me the steps you are taking before you get to Browser Configuration? I am not able to recreate that to check into what I see on my BlackBerry to try to help you. Thanks. DebiN
