Question
Hey, my question is..

I signed up for a cellphone a year ago with Telus in Canada. The law states that if they change their TOS, I can cancel my cellphone contract within 30 days. When signing the 3 year contract, I rec'd 2 cellphones at a 400 dollar value each for free. Will I have to give these phones back upon canceling?

Answer
When you signed your contract you signed for 3 years. If you cancel without 30 days, you return your phones, your contract is cancelled and you only pay for the service you used. You absolutely cannot keep the phones. If you do not return the phones, you will be charged the full $800.00 for them. What Terms of Service did they change that is making you want to cancel your service? If you cancel your service and they have an early termination fee, you will have to pay that feel. You can still cancel at any time that you choose, but if the carrier charges an early cancellation fee, you can keep your phones, but you have to pay the fee. You can't give back the phones and not pay the fee. What did they change that has you feeling that you should be cancelling your service?
