Question
I have a Nokia 6085 phone the ring volume is not loud enought for the work I do. My question is can I take my sim card from this phone and use it in a Motorola i580. This phone has plenty of volume. The sim card is the same shape and size. Problem is with the Nokia sim card in the i580 it says enter special code. Is this phone locked or will it not work?

Answer
You can only use your GSM SIM card in a GSM phone from your same provider. When you put your SIM into a phone that does not have the same radio antenna, it won't work at all. If both phones were iDEN, but different carriers, it could be SIM unlocked and work, however, since you have a GSM SIM card and the phone you are trying to put it into is an iDEN phone, no matter what you do, it won't work. If you get another phone from your carrier, it will work with your SIM. You may still have issues because there may not be a phone that will be loud enough for you. Talk to your carrier to ask them what phones may have the loudest rings. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
