Cellular Phones/Razr from China

Question
Hi again DebiN: Thanks again for your help last time.  This time I wonder if you've had any experience with certain phones being sold on eBay from China.  These are brand new Moto RazrV's quad band GSM for ATT, TMobile, etc and the sellers claim they will work on any US GSM network (I left Sprint and am now with ATT) just slip your Simm card and you're ready to go. They include both chargers, mini USB cable, Motorola Mobile Phone Tools CD and other items at an attractive price.  I am now using a little beat up Razr and I like those phones and would like to get one of these and leave my present one as back up, as long as all the features work.  Any thoughts on this??
Thanks, George

Answer
A quad band GSM RazrV will work with your AT&T SIM card. These devices are SIM unlocked because they are not coming from any of the US carriers. You will have to get the settings to program the WAP and MMS, but if the phone is in new condition, it should work fine on AT&T's network. Before I would buy, however, I would recommend that if you are eligible for an upgrade with AT&T, that you get a phone from them instead. New phones are free or very low cost, come with a 12 month warranty, nothing to program, etc. I would always buy from my carrier versus through a third party any day of the week. If you aren't eligible for an upgrade, that's different, but please don't pay a lot for this device, $50.00 is the most I would pay. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
